How to Post News (by IHSM Webmaster, published Thursday, 29 July 2010 15:04)
writeFlash({"src":"http://www.youtube.com/v/IQJ05gdx11U","wmode":"opaque","width":"425","height":"350"}); Chairpeople can post news about their events, committee meetings, and pictures/videos right within articles. This quick how-to will show you how to post an article.
First, you have to be logged in. Second, in the User Menu choose "Submit an Article". Next you can add a title for your news article, and add content. You can use the familiar icons in the editor to bold items, set the font size, etc. Be sure to break up your article into manageable paragraphs.
When it comes to adding images, it gets a little trickier. Click on the icon that looks like a photograph.
You'll then get an image manager window. To add a picture that's saved on your computer, click the upload button on the middle right of the screen. Click "Add", then browse to your saved picture, select it, clock "OK", and then click "Upload." After a check mark appears next to your file, click the "x" to close the upload window, and click on your filename which is now in the image gallery. Once you do, the image preview will show up and the URL field will automatically fill in. You can now click "Insert" at the bottom.

You'll now see your picture in the story, and you can use the left/right/center alignment buttons.
To add a YouTube content, copy the URL from YouTube, right-click in the editor, and choose "paste as plain text." If you don't paste as plain text, the video will appear twice!

Then scroll to the top of the page and click "Save" and you're done.

2010 Musical Guests (by IHSM Webmaster, published Friday, 14 May 2010 09:19)
2010 Musical Guests
Our confirmed lineup of 2010 festival performers includes: Shilelegh Law
Jameson's Revenge The Butcher Boys
IHS Pipes and Drums
More to come!
About the Performers: Shilelegh Law
New York and Irish music have a long and storied history together, a collision of two cultures that results in bedlam, beauty, and a lot in between. SHILELAGH LAW embodies all that is New York Irish Music: old songs, new songs, jigs, reels, dancing, weeping, lots of laughter, plenty of drinks, and the inevitable visit to the local diner at 5 a.m. By interpreting traditional Irish Music through a filter of urban grittiness, SHILELAGH LAW helps to define the Irish-American experience that is such a big part of New York town. Read more about the band and check out their schedule at: www.halfthebottle.com
Jameson's Revenge
Jameson's Revenge is a loosely connected group of "Trad-Irish musicians" from in and around the Bronx/Westchester area who share two common goals: (1)....to play really "spirited" Irish music and (2)....to have as much fun as possible while doing it. Nothing else really matters. Read more about the band and check out their schedule at: www.jamesonsrevenge.com
The Butcher Boys
Connecticut's Butcher Boys play rocking Irish tunes, drink booze and tell bad jokes. Read more about the band and check out their schedule at: www.thebutcherboys.net
