Milford Irish Festival
Please join us for the 6th Annual Milford Irish Festival on Friday, September 16th and Saturday, September 17! Come and enjoy Irish music, dancing, food, and drink, and glorious Irish wares for sale. The admission fee is $10 Saturday & $5 Friday per person 13 years and older. Please check our website, www.milfordirishfest.com for updated details.
Hours: 6 pm to 9:30 pm Friday and 11 am to 9:30 pm Saturday. Rain or Shine.
Location: The Fowler Field Rotary Pavilion, behind the Milford Public Library, 57 New Haven Avenue, Milford, CT 06460, the downtown Milford area.
Musical Groups Performing: The Alehounds, The Mighty Ploughboys, Bobby Morrill; Gaelic Highland Pipe Band, The Kathleen Mulkerin’s School of Irish Dancing; Lenihan School of Irish Dancing; Calley McGrane & the Exiles, The John Whelan Band, Keltic Kick, and Barleyjuice.
Food and Beverage: Corned Beef, Shepherd's Pie, Irish Stew, Bangers & Mash, Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, French Fries; Chicken Fingers; Pulled Pork; Fried Dough; Kettle corn; Fish & Chips; Seafood Wrap; Steamed Potatoes; Italian Ice, & Ice Cream. There will be Water, Soda, Beer, Twisted Tea, Smirnoff Ice, Hard Cider & Wine.
Irish Marketplace: On Saturday we will have Irish Crafts and Gifts; perfume; sterling silver, gemstone, and Celtic jewelry; CD’s/DVD’s, books; children’s gifts; artwork; framed and matted photos; glassware, home décor items; plaques; Guinness and Jameson logo articles; and clothing, including soccer and rugby shirts, and one vendor coming directly from Dingle with sweaters, linens, and capes.
Cultural Tent: Saturday there will be a Tea Room with Irish Coffee , Tea & Baked Goods (scones, apple tarts, Irish soda bread, brown bread). We will also have Irish History/Language, Genealogy, Trivia, Irish Bingo, Music, & Step Dancing Demonstrations. Irish Heritage Society logo items for sale: hats, tee shirts, sweatshirts, etc
Raffle Tent: 50-50 Raffles, & Raffle of fabulous gifts from Marketplace vendors
Children’s Tent: On Saturday Children activities will be available between 11 am to 6 pm and will include face painting, coloring, plant-a-shamrock, games and prizes, step dancing demos, Rock Climbing Wall, and a bounce house activity sponsored in part by Great Beginnings Preschool. There will be a concession with Snow Cones, Cotton Candy, Soft Pretzels and Juice.
Parking: There is no parking at the festival site except for the handicapped & vendors. Free Shuttle bus service will be available on Saturday to & from the Milford Westfield Connecticut Post Mall off I-95, exit 39B.
