Tuesdays, March 24, 2026*. 6:30-8:30 pm; The WomeTun on Platform Two by Laura Anthony (who lives in Kildare), published March 2025, 336 pp. This book is based on a little-known but true event. In 1970’s Dublin, all forms of contraception are strictly forbidden, but an intrepid group of women risked everything to change that. This is a haunting and powerful story of feminine resistance and resilience that reminds us all of where we started and how far we still have to go. (Book recommended by Paula McGill) *Please note: the date is the 4th Tuesday in March to allow us to celebrate March 17th!)


Tuesday, May 19, 2026. 6:30-8:30 pm; If I Tell, Worse Will Happen by Gill Perdue (a woman who lives in the Dublin southside suburb of Rathfarnham). First published in 2022 as The Interview, this is the 1st book in the Laura Shaw series of crime novels set in the fictional Dublin suburb of Clonchapel. Available in paperback. A girl covered in blood. Her missing stepfather. Two detectives racing against time. Laura is her team's top interviewer, an expert at finding the 'in' with victims that helps crack the case. Niamh is her straight-talking partner who is noticing cracks in her mentor's careful facade. Jenny is the 14-year-old assault victim found bloody and confused on a suburban street. They need answers, and fast. But Jenny seems terrified to tell them the truth.
