• Festival Setup & Breakdown Schedule

  • 2014 Milford Irish Festival Setup Details / Schedule
Weather conditions can impact exactly what gets done and when, so please come down, be patient and be ready to pitch in wherever you’re needed. Schedule below is approximate, and doesn’t cover everything.
Wednesday evening on – we have the area, with no other parking allowed. The trailer, loaded with festival equipment will be parked there overnight, ready to go Thurs. morning.
Thursday morning, 9 am, setup will begin with encircling the site with orange fencing. Tent poles and canopies can be organized, for areas that will be used on Friday night. Set up to continue throughout Thursday. If weather permits (not windy), as much setup as possible of tents in advance of Friday.
Friday morning, 8 am. Set up will continue- big push will be on for 6 pm opening! Marketplace and cultural area tents to be set up. Membership, merchandise, raffle tents all to be set up. Ticket booth to be assembled. Banners to be hung on fences, county flags to be hung from pavilion rafters (before any tables can be set up). Once the flags are hung, starting around 11 am, tables can be set up in pavilion and surrounding areas, on covered with green plastic, and chairs set up. This is a job that does not require heavy lifting or strength, but is time-consuming and necessary. Marketplace and Cultural area to be set up, and tea room as well.
Saturday morning – tables to be recovered as needed. Final setup, cleanup and tidying for 11 am opening. Assist vendors arriving with their equipment and wares. All chairpeople should be there early to be sure their areas are ready.
Saturday night (after festival) and Sunday morning (starting at 8 am)– grounds cleanup, tables and chairs down. Trailer repacked. Need as many hands as possible – everyone will be tired and will have been working for several days straight. Please give a few hours time!
