• OUR TENTH ANNUAL MILFORD IRISH FESTIVAL

  • The Festival kicks-off on Friday, September 18 (6:00pm – 11:00pm) with live musical performances by, Kevin McKernon of County Cavan, Americelt and the Alehounds. There will be a variety of food samplings and a great assortment of tasty libations including Guinness. The Irish Marketplace will be open for business offering an outstanding variety of Irish wares for sale. The Cultural area will feature a Ceili and there will be free children’s activities available from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.
    The festival will take place at The Fowler Field Rotary Pavilion behind the Milford Public Library, 57 New Haven Avenue, Milford, CT 06460, downtown Milford CT. Free shuttle service from the Wasson Field parking lot . Admission is $5 Friday and $12 Saturday for those 12 years and older. A two day pass is $15.

  • The Irish Heritage Society is grateful to Slainte Milford, Inc. for its support of our festival. Slainte Milford, Inc. makes possible our Lyle James and Bill McNamara scholarships to worthy students graduating from Jonathan Law and Joseph Foran High Schools. Also supported is the IHSM Scholarship. Slainte supports our cultural events including the “Cultural Area” of our Irish Festival.

  • A full day of Irish festivities take place on Saturday, September 19.
    Live musical performances by Bobby Morrill, the Druids, Once Removed, Calley McGrane and the Exiles, Keltic Kick, and the McLean Avenue Band. Irish dancing performances will include Kathleen Mulkerin’s School of Irish Dancing and Lenihan School of Irish Dancing.
    The Irish Marketplace offers Irish crafts, gifts, jewelry, and clothing for children and adults alike. The team room will be serving Irish Coffee and other tasty treats.
    The Cultural area will feature traditional Irish Music by Shamrock Traditional Irish Music Society and PV O’Donnel Branch of CCE, step dancing and bagpiper demonstrations, Tara Theatre Company, and exhibitors including Irish history and genealogy and Irish language.
    In addition to the 50-50 Raffles, there will be a raffle for a fabulous trip for two to Ireland, sponsored by Cara Group Travel. Free children’s activities will be available between 11:00am and 6:00pm.
